Former AICC President Rahul Gandhi was reportedly prevented from entering a temple in Assam today, according to Congress party General Secretary KC Venugopal.

Venugopal expressed disappointment, stating that despite having prior permission, the former AICC president was denied access to the temple.

In a social media post, Venugopal wrote, “Today, the BJP stopped Rahul Gandhi from visiting Batadrava Satra, despite prior permission. We are witnessing a new phase of democracy where the BJP dictates who can enter a temple and when. This authoritarian regime must recognize that its days are numbered. The people of India will not tolerate such authoritarianism. We will persist until we are allowed to pay our respects to Sri Sri Srimanta Sankardeva.”

Rahul Gandhi is on Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and the Yatra is currently traversing through Assam state, it was started in Manipur and culminate in Mumbai.
